More profit yesterday (easy this tipping game eh lol), hopefully means the pressure is off this afternoon as I can hardly claim to be over confident of the chances of my suggestions today – which could mean anything or nothing of course!
As is often the case both my bets today run pretty close to each other (not deliberate, these things happen), starting with the 3.20pm at Brighton where I hope for a big run from Hazzaat who represents the Roger Varian yard. The presence of likely favourite Rising Legend may well make a better price for this son of Iffraaj who looked as if he would learn an awful lot from his debut fourth to Makafeh at Yarmouth when showing all the classic sings of inexperience before the penny finally dropped. With that run under his belt he should be a different proposition here and as I hear he is working really well at home on the gallops he has to be included as a possible bet today.
When a yard is in great form it is pretty difficult to ignore any of their runners and in Mark Johnston we have a stable who can do little wrong. I am not an advocate of backing horses carrying a penalty but as Mark Johnston is a vet he should know if a horse in his charge is recovered enough to go back to the track, so if Sir Graham Wade takes his chance in the 4.00pm at Pontefract, I feel the hint should be taken. He won his second race in a row at Glorious Goodwood last week when running away with a very valuable handicap, and although he has a penalty I am pretty certain the handicapper will put him up a lot more than the extra six pounds he has to carry here in which case she should be the proverbial good thing so fingers and toes crossed.
