Vera Dushevina – Aleksandra Wozniak
Dushevina can only do better than the last time these 2 met, which was on grass. Wozniak won 6-1 6-0.
Chanelle Scheepers – Yaroslava Shvedova
Cheepers has never ever been able to pass the 1st round at Wimbledon, whereas Shvedova has at least reached the 2nd round twice. They are 2-2 in h2h.
Johanna Larsson – Melinda Czink
Czink has gone through the qualies and has a 3rd round from last year to defend. Larsson has never been passed the 1st round.
Irina-Camelia Begu – Romina Oprandi
Begu simply not good enough on grass to justify prices like these.
Urszula Radwanska – Marina Erakovic
Erakovic is a good grass court player but Radwanska has been is extremely good form this grass season and it would be disappointing to see her fail now.
Yanina Wickmayer – Svetlana Kuznetsova
Wickmayer beat Kuznetsova here last year but I think the latter is in for revenge. Wickmayer has not been doing well for quite a long time while Kuznetsova showed at French Open that she still knows how to turn it on.
Olga Govortsova – Annika Beck
Govortsova has lost 5 of her last 6 matches here at Wimbledon, while Beck comes in massively good form with 9 wins on the trot.
Anastasia Yakimova – Mandy Minella
Minella has played 2 grass matches in 2 year. At Wimbledon in 2010 and 2011. Both were lost, just as she also lost to Yakimova twice. Both on clay which is Minellas strongest surface.
