Tennis Picks – Tie Break on the cards in Halle

Vinci won her first round by Razzano having to fold after the first set. In the 2nd round she was in trouble against Heather Watson. I’m thinking she could be in for a lot more trouble today.

Zheng has hammered her way through the qualies and has beaten Vinci rather comfortably in their last 2 meetings. Once in 2011 and at the Australian Open in january this year. 6-4 6-2 both times.

Tomas Berdych – Tommy Haas
These 2 have met each other 3 times before. On hard court in 2004. On clay in 2005. On grass in 2005. On every occassion there has been a tie break. Playing on grass here doesn’t exactly minimize the “risk” of a tie break. When they met on grass in Wimbledon, they both served well enough for the final set only to be decided at 8-6 in the fifth.
