Horse Racing Tips – 26 June 2012 – Newton Abbot & Beverley

An interesting and profitable day despite my doom and glom predictions yesterday with my highlight the six length romp by selection Asker – why oh why didn’t I put a lot more on it than a single point? Fact is that is the punters nightmare the world over  – every winner should have had more on it – and every loser a whole lot less lol, but we soldier on regardless.

This Tuesday is again standard early week mediocrity with no Frankel to look forward to (where has the week gone?), but I have still found a couple of horses to at least consider, though the fact that the first one runs in a claimer tells a story in itself! Just Lille may not be the force of old when the daughter of Mull Of Kintyre used to mix it in Group Three and Listed class, but her record in claimers is two out of two and I am hoping she can keep that 100% record in the 3.00pm at Beverley this afternoon. She really does look to have everything going for her here as she is best in at the weights on official ratings, has had a pipe opener when fourth in a far better race at Doncaster (well beaten to be fair and a couple of months back), has won at the track twice from five attempts, three times over the distance (or thereabouts), and has scored on good to soft going with the only “downer” being that she has a 0-2 record on heavy or soft ground which is my one concern.

For my other bet I am sorry to say a little patience will be needed as Tiger O’Toole doesn’t run until 7.35pm – so time to have a cuppa or even your dinner first then? Trained by Evan Williams and to be ridden by Paul Maloney, his record over fences isn’t that inspiring at first glance but a deeper look will soon show that he has been taking on much better company in handicap chases against more experienced opposition. Dropping back in to novice class this evening and receiving weight from likely favourite Indian Daudaie I think he has a squeak at a sensible price though I do admit the two miles is an interesting challenge with his win over fences being over two and a half miles, the same trip as his best ever win over hurdles when he was off Walkon at Ascot.
