Horse Racing Tips – 11 June 2012 – Pontefract

As we all settle down to the oft mentioned “summer of sport” I have to admit that although racing is my full time job and passion, I spent the weekend in not so sunny Bradford, watching the best 8 ball pool players in the World at the JLEC English Open.  Am amazing atmosphere, live streaming via the International Professional Pool Players website (www.ipapooltour.com), twenty one quality pool tables, and more importantly the highest level of cue sport imaginable (these guys can make the cue ball dance), leaves me at a loss for why there is no bookmaker involvement of even betting, let alone sensible media involvement for a sport played by millions?

Rant over, and back to the betting this Monday and as you would expect, the racing isn’t all that and as I cannot bring myself to bet against England tonight I find my options rather limited! The racing really isn’t all that but we will find a bet (or die trying), although whether it will be worth the extra form study is open to question? After much thought, and an allergy to handing out too may losers (I hate it, even if it doesn’t seem that way sometimes), I have decided that as we had three bets the other day I can re balance the average by only having one bet today – you know it makes sense lol? A two mile one furlong class four handicap may seem financial suicide and possibly is, but you would have to think William Knight sends Passion Play all the way to Pontefract from Sussex for a good reason. After winning off a mark of 62 at Kempton over a mile and a half, he looked woefully once paced over the same course and distance off of a mark four pounds higher last time out but could improve again stepped up in trip. The jockey booking of William Buick looks interesting and a positive, and as he is still only four, further improvement is likely, if not guaranteed.
