It had been coming and BOOM another big price winner is landed courtesy of William Knight’s brilliant information to From The Stables. Knight’s Oblitereight certainly obliterated the field in the Kempton race and rewarded us at odds of up to 21.00. Hope you all got on!
I avoided Chester yesterday as nothing really took my eye and with a couple of surprises was glad I did. However, having seen that the ground is riding slow I think it is worth taking a chance on Ian Williams’ Call To Reason in the opener at 13:35. He will be trying to give Dr Marwan Koukash another winner at the track he loves and studying his form a little, I think he can run much better than his current odds of 11.00.
Williams’ told us “Call To Reason disappointed me last time but if a return to form today on ground that will be fine, we should go close.” However, as he tries a trip beyond a mile for the first time it is her breeding which has really made me believe this horse reprsents real value today. Both a full sister (Stella Point) and half sister by War Chant (Cilium) have won over today’s 10 furlong trip and it is just possible we will see an improved performance from Williams’ mare. She goes on soft ground and should be backed to win at 11.00 with BetVictor.
Much later today and a little more speculative is Sammy Spiderman in the 19:45 at Kelso. Sammy appears a little of an Ayr course specialist with all five of his wins coming there, but he might be worth supporting at long-odds to get involved today. His trainer Alistair Whillans has had a couple of recent winners and the very soft ground will suit this 9-y-o. At odds of 23.00 he should be backed each-way with Stan James.
