With Chester looming up tomorrow onwards it makes sense to keep this short and to the point today when it seems likely I will be able to write a lot more to bore you to tears with tomorrow, with the Cheshire Oaks to talk about for starters.
Nothing much happened of note yesterday but then that is nothing unusual for a bank holiday to be honest, so instead of talking BS for a few paragraphs we may as well get straight down to business and a couple of small bets to tide us over until the bigger meetings kick the quality meetings.
Although I have no evidence to back up my assumptions I am pretty confident that there are lot more shocks in the lower quality races which is why I will be treading carefully when I back Ministerofinterior in the 7.40pm from Catterick tonight. A half decent sort in good form over hurdles (last six races read 1-1-9-1-2-1), he won last time out on the flat at Bath over two miles and a furlong so the stamina needed for this two miles is not in question. He has been put up eight pounds for that victory but is just the sort to back in running (if that’s your sort of thing), at a huge price as he seems certain to get detached early on before running on strongly late on – hopefully in time to get to the front where it matters. Sadly, that really is the only bet I can even consider this yesterday I am sorry to say (hope I haven’t let anyone down?), but we should be back to normal tomorrow once the racing gets a little bit better!
