VALUEMAN – Tuesday 17th April

A couple of you have emailed me asking if I would come back and provide some value horse racing information, maybe this was after the gallant fourth of Cappa Bleu gave us a nice return in the Grand National on Saturday!

Well I will try, over the coming weeks when available, I will post my thoughts on a value bet, mainly based on our trainers’ comments at From The Stables.

We will start today with an each-way pick in the very competitive 16:50 at Kempton.  Kim Bailey runs two horses, but it is Valento that interests me, having his first run in over 400 days.  Bailey told us “Valento has been off the track for 440 days so today he is preping himself for a chasing campaign after May, but again he is fit and well and could surprise so may be worth a small e/w.”

Closer analysis highlights that the horse seems to run well at this time of year, with wins in March (2009) and April (2010). Whilst he might improve for the run given the absence, Kim’s comment that he is fit and well makes me think the 26.00 with Bet365 200£ Free bets! is excellent value.
