Owls to keep Flying.

So, you win the Steel City derby, your team is 3rd in the league just 2 points behind local rivals Sheffield United, you have a real chance of gaining automatic promotion, not to say, you are most definitely in the play off’s………And You get the Sack!!!

Football is a funny old game as someone famously quoted, but who saw that coming in League 1? No-one to be frank, and the owners/chairmen need to see take a long hard look in the mirror and ask themselves if they can justify their actions at times.

Out goes Gary Megson as the dust had only just settled on The  Owls beating The Blades in the Sheffield derby. Lying 3rd in the league obviously wasn’t good enough for the board so the search starts immediately for a replacement. At the time of writing Dave Jones was strong favourite (1.4 with SkyBet. Get it if you can).

The team have to carry on regardless and take a trip over the Pennines to Rochdale who are struggling themselves, not at the top but at the bottom. Just 2 wins in 15 have seen Dale drop into the relegation zone and 3 points from safety. Goal shy too doesn’t help with just 2 in 5 and 9 games without a goal in 14, shows why the drop to the basement of league 1.

The Owls with the victory over United just kept in touch with the top 2 and even though their form has been a little indifferent, they should be too strong for Dale as the team will be out to impress whoever will be in charge..

I reckon another away victory for the Owls to keep tabs on the top 2.
