February has not been the best of months, but I think fortunes could be changing. Tuesday’s selection was well backed before just missing out on a place on the line, whilst From The Stables owners enjoyed their second success when the Charlie Mann trained Low Gales won a Maiden Hurdle at Ludlow. We also have a runner this afternoon in Who Owns Me at Lingfield, but the expectation is that the horse will require a handicap mark before being competitive.
So today’s selections come from Southwell and Huntingdon. At Southwell From The Stables’ tipster Mike Gorvin makes a very compelling case for the Richard Guest trained Jawaab. He told our members “Jawaab hasn’t won lately but you only have to look back a year to him winning of significantly higher marks than today’s. His last four runs have become progressively better whilst his handicap mark has dropped for them and he made eyecatching progress last time out over course and distance. I get the feeling that his time is coming and he couldn’t have a better opportunity to show it than in this race. The 7/2 is very tempting although I’m not sure how long it will last.” Well that price has indeed gone now but he is still worth supporting to a maximum win stake at 3.75 in the 15:10 at Southwell, this price is available generally, including Ladbrokes.
The second selection is a little more speculative and runs in the 16:00 at Huntingdon. The horse is Flite who ran well in two bumpers before disappointing on debut over hurdles in October. The horses has had a wind operation since that last run and we have been told the horse is going well at home. This race is fairly competitive, as most Novice Hurdle races are at this time of year, with runners from the Nicky Henderson, Nigel Twiston-Davies and Alan King yards. However, at 34.00 with Skybet 10£ in Free bets! Flite should be backed to a small each-way stake.
