Thursday 16th February – Three selections but only one is value

Having studied the form for today’s racing I had three possible selections.  However, when analysing the odds, only one horse represents decent value.  For the record the two that don’t are Civil Unrest for James Ewart at Musselburgh and Automotive for Julia Feilden this evening at Kempton.  Both horses have attracted support this morning, particular Automotive who it appears will go off favourite in the 18:15.

That leaves Tom George’s Lexicon Lad as my only recommended bet today. I saw the 7-y-o run a cracking race at Cheltenham last time, when despite being badly hampered four out, he still finished second to th eimpressive Alan King winner Bless The Wings.  Lexicon Lad had previously won well at Warwick before finishing third at Sandown, where he looked like he would appreciate a longer trip. He steps up today to just less than 3 miles and with trainer Tom George hitting a bit of form (had a double yesterday) I think Lexicon Lad can return to the winners’ enclosure.

At 6.50 with Blue Square 25£ Free Bet! Lexicon Lad should be backed to win the 16:35 at Leicester.
