Robin Haase – Lukas Lacko
Lacko produced a fine win over Bogomolov yesterday and I taking a chance on him again today, since I think Haase has become too big a favourite. Lacko won their only previous meeting.
Mikhail Youzhny – Ivo Karlovic
They have met each other twice before, both on hard courts and Youzhny won the both. The most recent win came on January 4 this year.
His game is better suited for indoors and Karlovic has never passed the quarterfinals here in Zagreb. The odds are too high on Youzhny.
Carlos Berlocq – Federico Delbonis
Delbonis produced a major upset yesterday when taking down Bellucci, and it means he’s on a 5 game winning streak since he’s come through the qualies.
Yesterday’s win could leave him on a total high and help him move even further, but I’m betting that it’ll instead have drained his resources too much to also beat Berlocq.
The latter came through in flying colours in the 2nd round winning 6-1 6-0 and he also won the 2nd set 6-0 in his first match.
These 2 met in 2010 with Berlocq winning in 2 sets on clay.
Juan Monaco – Albert Montanes
Both players can be totally up and down depending on their mood, the weather, what ever, which is why I think it’s worth taking on Montanes to at least win a set.
He has won his first 2 matches without dropping a set, and has played Monaco twice before, both on clay and Monaco lost them both.
