Sunday 19th February – Trainers in form

Nicky Henderson continued his good run yesterday and I hope a few of you got on Riverside Theatre at 3.25, before the big gamble started. Elsewhere Neptune Collonges ran a great race for us but just found one too good in the Grand National Trial. However, probably the training fete of the day was Colin Tizzard, who after eight of his 15 runners had run must have been pulling what is left of his hair out!  Then from his last seven runners of the day, he proceeded to have five winners and two seconds, incredibly the seconds being in the same races as two of his winners!

Members of the From The Stables’ site, where delighted and some had another straight forecast when Lucinda Russell’s Brindisi Breeze led home Kim Bailey’s Harry Topper in the Grade 2 Novice Hurdle at Haydock.  Colin Tizzard has three runners todat at Ffos Las and all have a decent chance. The one I most like the look of is Milarrow in the 14:00, this is not the easiest Novice Hurdle race with three previous winners, but Tizzard sounded confident about the chances of his horse telling us: “Milarrow just got touched off here last month and the slight drop in trip should help him today. He’s a progressive horse and he will be winning soon, hopefully it will be today.” At 4.50 Milarrow should be backed to win the 14:00 Ffos Las with a best odds guaranteed company such as Bet365.

At Market Rasen in the 14:10 in what looks a very open handicap, I liked the comment that Ian Williams gave us about Touch Of Irish. he said “We drop the horse in grade today, but carrying a big weight will not be a problem as he’s a big horse. He didn’t see out his last race at Doncaster and I think he will be better for that run. This trip should be ideal and I expect a much better run today. Overall has a very decent each-way chance.” the horse has been backed this morning but is still available at 9.00 with Ladbrokes 50£ in Free bets! and is worth a small bet.
