Monday 6th February – Trainers in form

Whilst racing has been disrupted over the past few days, I think it could pay to side with trainers who have been having recent winners. One such trainer is Julia Feilden who had a winner at Wolverhampton on Saturday and I’m hopeful she can score again today.

Feilden saddles the 5-y-o Khajaaly in the 15:55 and in what looks a tight event the 8.00 on offer looks too big.  Despite three recent losing efforts, the horse has won three times over course and distance most recently in September and I think he can get involved in the finish today.  Last time out Khajaaly was drawn in the car-park, so forget that run and his two runs before that show there is nothing between him and Needwood Ridge. That horse is currently a couple of points shorter and with leading all-weather jockey Luke Morris providing assistance from the saddle.  Khajaaly should be backed to win at 8.00 with a Best Odds Guaranteed firm such as Ladbrokes.

My second selection has been put up as today’s value bet by Mike Gorvin, the new addition to the From The Stables’ team.  If the value hasn’t gone by 11.30, I will reveal the horse here.

Well, I don’t think the value has gone, Bentley is the horse in question and runs in the 17.00 at Wolverhamton for the in-form Brian Baugh yard. Bentley was winning off a mark in the mid-60s a year ago and can race of 52 today.  He went close two weeks ago and I’m hopeful he can one better today, at odds of 8.00 with Boylesports 20£ in Free bets! he should be backed to win.
