Almost the big one yesterday! Flite finished 16 lengths clear of the third horse but just found Alan King’s Night Rose too good to stop us landing a 33/1 winner, although still providing a decent return on each-way bets. It was a shame my banker didn’t deliver, but I guess that’s racing.
A little similar to Flite who we knew had had a wind operation, today we know something about one of Henry Daly’s runners that not all punter will know. That is that his horse Kingsmere coughed after his last run, whch would explain an apparent poor as the horse was tailed off. Kingsmere was dropped three pounds in the ratings and on his previous run (third of 14) over a trip that looked a little too far he would come into the reckoning in this open looking handicap. A winner for us a few weeks ago, Magic Prospect is the likely favourite and a big danger and it could be advisable to have a saver on Charlie Mann’s 5-y-o, but at 21.00 with Ladbrokes 50£ in Free bets! Kingsmere is very good each-way value in the 16:10 at Sandown.
Later at Wolverhampton, I think it could to have a little interest in Marco Botti’s Eastern Amour in the 19:00. The horse ran two weeks ago and the form of that run leaves him with plenty to find to be competitive this evening. However, Marco told us this morning that “He ran very green last time out on his first start at Lingfield. He has seemed to improve since then. He is sharper, the trip and surface should suit. He should be thereabouts, an each way chance although shame there are only 7 runners”. Whilst it is a little speculative, with Marco also fielding one of the fancied runners, I think Eastern Amour is worth a small win interest this evening at 10.00 with William Hill.
