Thursday 5th January – Third time lucky?

The Meydan season starts today in Dubai, but for my selections I am staying closer to home.

One of the first rules of successful gambling is not letting your heart rule your head.  Today I have really questioned myself whether I should select Mallusk for a third time in as many weeks.  The horse was a little unlucky last week at Uttoxeter just finding one too good.  He runs off the same mark again today at Lingfield and with his favoured heavy ground is given one last chance.  Kim Bailey the trainer has said on his website that although Mallusk is out again quickly he “has a great chance”.

Mallusk should be backed to win at 4.50 with Best Odds Guaranteed (BOG) firm Ladbrokes.

At Sedgefield, I am also keeping the faith with Kykate.  This is a horse our website recommended backing a few weeks ago, also at Uttoxeter.  Whilst running with promise, the horse was outpaced two out and I am hoping this longer trip will bring about some improvement. The horse has run well on this undulating course, when second last year and looks good value at a generally available 9.00.  A win bet with a BOG firm such as Bet365 200£ Free bets! is recommended.
