A great day for Onebooker racing tipsters, my 15.00 winner was complimented by a good day for Sean with a winner and each-way selection. The horse that let us down on a clean sweep was Third Intention at Taunton, posting before we had the From The Stables comment from Colin Tizzard probably cost us on this one.
Colin told our members that the horse had a slight set back and although fit and well, he thought a place more realsitic. Well he was spot-on, run out of it after the last by the Paul Nicholls Triumph Hurdle hopeful Ranjaan, as he probably had an impossible task of trying to concede 21lbs. I think we will see a sharper horse in the comings weeks and with two obvious races as targets, I suggest we look to see if we can get a return from this 5-y-o.
The obvious next target is the Betfair 20£ in Free bets! Hurdle next month and whilst some boolies are as low as 15.00, Bet365 200£ Free bets! and William Hill 25£ Free bet with code F25 both still go 26.00, Third Intention should be backed each-way. At the Festival he will most likely tackle the County Hurdle, fewer firms are offering prices here, but at smaller stakes he should be backed at the same price 26.00 with William Hill.
In the near term, I think the newly named Bet Victor and Stan James £150 Free Bet may have overpriced the David Pipe trained Consigliere in the feature race at Haydock tomorrow. This horse looked revitalised when winning at Wincanton two weeks ago, Pipe commented that he was winning over his furthest distance, 2 miles five furlongs, and he steps up further to 3 miles tomorrow. The Peter Marsh Chase was won by a number of future Gold Cup winners in its early days, whilst it no longer has that appeal it it still one of the big pre-Cheltenham chases. Consigliere will relish the heavy ground and trying this trip for the first time is worth supporting in what looks a very open renewal, he should be backed to win the 15:30 at Haydock at 10.00.
