Horse Racing Tips – Saturday 28 January – Kenilworth

No point in messing around and as I have travelled half way round the world or so to go to Kenilworth in Cape Town for their big race meeting it would be remiss of me not to tip in two of their races at the very least?

The sun is shining brightly and I am NOT looking forward to wearing a suit and tie but that will hopefully be as bad as the day gets if Miss October wins race two at 10.50am your time. She is reported to be an exceptional filly by champion sprinter and South African super sire Var and after two wins form two races what more can you ask for, with even the other trainers telling me she is certainly the one they all have to try and beat.

For the main bet, Mike De Kock sends champion mare Igugu for the J & B Met, the main race of the day and a grade one contest.  She has had her problems and is currently in the quarantine barns thanks to the weird rules surrounding African horse sickness, but I saw her in the flesh yesterday morning and she looks fine tuned and ready to run. Do not worry if she sweats up on the day as she will be moved from a cooler barn to the hot South African sun, and we could even get a better price and the facts are that she is easily the best horse in the race yet trading at odds against thanks to her interrupted preparation.  5/4 or better is still out there as I write and if she was thought of as a World Cup contender (can’t go because she can’t travel yet), then this really ought to be nothing more than easy pickings.
