Handball Picks – European Championships Men – Day 1

Onebooker has asked our in house expert on the handball to assess the games in the first round of the European Championships for men and here’s what he thinks of the first day.

Germany – Czech Republic
Germany is very far from old standards where they used to win titles. They’ve conceded some disappointings results in the warm up, losing to Hungary among other things and I don’t see the Czech’s being as far away from a surprise as the odds suggests.

Serbia – Poland
Poland has a few injuries to some of their profiles, while the Serbs have home advantage and of course they’ll come out firing on all guns. A win is vital for the rest of their tournament.

Sweden – FYR Macedonia
An even bigger surprise than in the first match in this group, but I simply don’t know why Macedonia should be such a great outsider.

Denmark – Slovakia
I don’t think Slovakias stands a chance in this group and definitely not against the Danes. The question is how big their win will be, and I’m guessing they’ll keep very focused and take home a solid win.
