Football Picks – Africa Cup of Nations – Group B

Angola – Sudan
As expected Sudan lost their first group match against Ivory Coast, while Angola escaped from their first match with a win. Viewed in that context the odds on Angola to win this afternoon seem a bit high, and when we get them on asian handicap at odds 1.73, where half of the stake is returned if the match ends without a winner, it should be tried out.

Simply because Sudan lacks goals.

They have played six matches since 14 December, against opponents of varying quality. They’ve met Jordan, Palestine, Tunisia, Senegal, Gabon and Ivory Coast, and not scored a single goal. Four of the matches were lost.

Hold that up against Angola, who are unbeaten in 7 games in a row, five of which were won, and they have kept a clean sheet in four of these.

Ivory Coast – Burkina Faso
They met each other in the group stage at the latest Africa Cup of Nations in 2010, in a goalless match. Ivory Coast are unbeaten in 10 matches, but 3 of their last 4 wins have been by a single goal, while Burkina Faso have only 4 defeats since October 2009 on their account, of which only one was lost by more than 1 goal.

With this bet we get a price of 1.63 if Burkina Faso manages to win, draw or lose by 1 goal.
