Tuesday 27th December – Chepstow Selections

After a fantastic Boxing Day’s racing including Kauto Star’s historic fifth King George triumph, today’s racing lacks a little star appeal!  However, there are still some good betting opportunities particularly at Chepstow.

The ground is heavy at Chepstow and in these conditions it usually pays to find horses with good previous form in such conditions.  Venentia Williams’ Stow showed he handled this ground with a return to form when fourth in a big handicap last time.  His winning form has all been on soft and I am hopeful that he can return to winning form today.  The recommendation is a 1 point win bet at 8.50 with Stan James.

In the next race David Pipe Consigliere attempts to return to winning ways. This 8-y-o had some smart form including a fourth at the Cheltenham Festival in March.  He is now racing off of a mark 7lbs lower and with the Pipe yard in pretty good form, and previous winning form on heavy ground, I think he is good each-way value at 17.00 with William Hill 25£ Free bet with code F25 today.
