Paul Nicholls seen here with Kauto Star has monopolised the Tingle Creek chase for the past six years. Indeed the great horse in picture won the 2005 and 2006 renewals. Nicholls was planning on only running Tataniano in this years’ race, but the recent rain has seen him leave Kauto Star’s half-brother declared to run in the race. With more rain due to fall on Sandown Park this evening, I think Kauto Stone is worthy of support.
The 5-y-o gelding showed his well being by winning in Ireland last month, when he won the Ladbrokes.com Chase very easily. That race was over two and a half miles, but like his illustrous half brother he seems to have speed to burn and I think he could be a real danger to his stable mate Tataniano and the Irish favourite Sizing Europe, if he is allowed to take his chance.
Whilst there is the possibility he may not run, if the rain forecast doesn’t come, that risk can be mitigated by a ‘non-runner money back’ offer from William Hill. At their current odds of 7.00 he should be backed each-way.
