Uzbekistan – North Korea
We had a bet on the same goal shy outcome in the reverse match, and there is no reason not to try, is there? I fail to see it, so I’m going for broke.
Uzbekistan won the reverse match by 1-0, whereby six of their last eight matches have featured less than two goals. An even wilder statistics, however, is North Korea able to show off.
Their past seven, and 14 of their last 15 matches have seen less than 3 goals. The only exception was a home match against Sri Lanka. All of their last 10 away matches have had two goals or less.
Iraq – China
Recently China lost 1-0 at home to Friday’s opponent, and defeat once again would more or less mean goodbye to further advancement.
Of course this could cause an entertaining match should Iraq quickly find the net, as China will therefore have to risk it all, but Iraq is playing rather tight matches these days.
In none of their first three group matches has there been a goal before the 43rd minute, and these three games have ended 0-2, 2-0 and 1-0. 14 of their last 16 matches, all played in 2011 has had less than 3 goals.
