Saturday 24th September – Classic Generation to strike

The Cambridegshire looks as wide open as usual, although interestingly despite 30 plus runner fields, this race often goes to a horse 16-1 or less.  I like the profile of Hughie Morrison’s Sagramor a very progressive 3-y-o until getting injured at Goodwood in July.  Morrison saddled the winner two years ago and I think he can go close again today.  The recommended bet is 1 point each way.

The 3-y-o classic generation have been getting the better of the elders more times than not this season.  I believe this will continue with Alanza in the Sun Chariot stakes at 15:10.  John Oxx’s filly has won three on the spin and can extend that sequence today, 4.50 looks a generous price from Coral.

Finally whilst we haven’t yet spoken with Nicky Richards this morning, I think Noble Alan is worth an interest in the big Handicap Chase at Market Rasen. His stamina to stay this two and three-quarter miles is unknown, but the horse will be spot on and is worth a little interest.
