X Factor Week 9:
Opening the show was Alexandra Burke; performing her latest single ‘The Silence’ she looked really angelic in a beautiful white dress. Her vocals were flawless and it was a very theatrical performance with musicians hanging upside down playing instruments. It was simple yet beautiful production, mainly about vocals, you can see why she won the show two years ago, and for the grand finish she was air lifted, just like an angel.

Next to perform was the cast of Glee, it was every gleek’s dream performance, it was lively, fun and true to the show and no doubt a taste of what their tour will be like. ‘Don’t Stop Believing’ by Journey – a great track!

The Black Eyed Peas sang their new single ‘The Time (Dirty Bit)’ it was a colourful, vibrate and futuristic performance. They are re-inventing the 80’s in a modern electric way, a totally awesome performance.

Now back to the results! First to go through and not surprisingly was One Direction, next one was Rebecca Ferguson and last but not least, the one and only Matt Cardle! Fighting for the final place will be Marry Byrne and Cher Lloyd.
* Mary Byrne* was the first to sing for survival and she sang ‘This Is A Man’s World’ by James Brown. Singing her heart out, you could tell she put everything into this which could be her last performance. She was clearly enjoying it, and if she leaves tonight she will be going on a high note. Unfortunately, I think the judges will pick Cher over Mary.. At the end of the performance the crowd was chanting ‘Mary, Mary’. Well done, girl.

*Cher Lloyd * sang ‘Every Time’ by Britney Spares, it was a very good song choice and her performance was emotional. To be honest, for me I found it pitchy in places and she was clearly pulling on their heart strings with ‘save me I’m innocent, young and different. It was enough as the judges all saved her, bar Louis Walsh who tried to save his own act! It was no surprise they went this way! I am sad to see Mary Byrne go home, and I will miss her from the show as she added a different element.
Cher, enjoy your last week in X factor… I have no idea how you made it this far. Next Sunday we have seen the last of your rap & cry antics!
